Where to get cheap replacement brushes?
Don't do it, the knock offs can damage your gums with their sharp bristles

Does this version have an issue with constant mold between where the brush connects to the base? That gap just collects mold constantly...

Can you still use the older wall plug (non-USB) charging base with this?

I think they all do. If you keep that area very clean, it helps.

Temu. I've been buying my Braun Oral-B replacements from there recently and they feel/ quality is essentially the same but at a fraction of the price. I've been shopping around for a Sonicare as a travel toothbrush and looked on Temu. They have Sonicare replacement brushes. I don't expect that you wouldn't be satisfied but worst case, if you don't, they are pretty inexpensive ($5 for a multipack). I don't expect this will be an issue because IMO you won't be able to tell the difference.

Got the 3100 from the deal last week. Is this one any better?
The 4100 has the pressure sensor, I don't think the 3100 does

Original brushheads are definitely overpriced for what they are...probably the same concept as printers/printer ink in that they're willing to see you the brush for cheaper to get you into buying their brushheads. I'm willing to skimp on anything that stays outside of the body, but for something like this, I stay away from the generics. No guarantee the brushhead/bristles don't have lead or other toxic contaminants. Or are rougher and will abrade gum tissue. All to save $20-30 a year for something I put in my mouth 2x a day? It's hard enough to avoid the fakes...even buying "sold and shipped by Amazon" has resulted in people getting fakes as Amazon mixes inventory.

I buy real ones now also. I've tried genetics from box stores and the bristles fall off while brushing after a while. I've never had that happen with authentic brush heads.

The button on mine is starting to go after 2+ years. I have to press it hard and just right for it to turn on/off. The onset was weirdly sudden - ie it wasn't gradually getting worse. Other than that I like it.
i had the same problem. i used the warranty for a replacement

I keep a small spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide and spray the connectors and sometimes the brush head once a day, and it has really helped. My brush heads last longer too.

I'm sure most know this, but just in case, it is safe to use hydrogen peroxide on something that goes in your mouth - dentists will sometimes recommend swishing with it if you any mouth sores. Also it has always dissipated by the time I use my brush again.
