Good deal for $50. The built-in sub rounds out the sound profile. Grabbed four for the olds in my family.

ARC (not eARC)

DD+ over ARC

Anyone know if this can use generic VESA soundbar brackets? I didn't see any pictures of the underside and it says wall mount brackets are built in, so I'm a bit concerned it doesn't.

It does support TOSlink aka optical, if you're like me and don't want to waste a whole HDMI cord for this when optical is better anyway.
Yeah.... that's just wrong. Optical has the potential to be better in certain cases, but it's also an older standard that hasn't been updated for modern HD multi channel audio and newer formats. So in many cases HDMI is simply better. In either case, either one would be fine for a cheap soundbar like this (or most soundbars for that matter). Then mainly just losing out on HDMI ARC control.

I bit the bullet and ordered this as a speaker for my desktop PC. Been looking for a decent but small soundbar to fit just in front of or behind my 40" 4K monitor with the right connections to connect to a PC. Thanks OP!

Personally I think your far better off getting a pair of powered studio monitor speakers, assuming you have the room and won't want to invest in a full audio system.
Example link?

They used to before they sold off the division.

I miss Brandsmart. I used to spend plenty of paychecks there. But, moved away, so only go when I rarely visit Florida.

I think something like these will give you much better sound than most soundbars:

https://www.amazon.com/PreSonus-E...0C88ZB3D9/

And if your budget is higher, there are of course higher end models you can opt for.

There are quite a lot of options at this price point and I'm not really an expert:

https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1...016P9HJIA/

https://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-BX...08KXVYGSF/

https://www.amazon.com/Mackie-Cre...083N8N7TB/

I personally have older model presonus 3.5 speakers in my bedroom and they do a good job imo.

I agree that the speakers you linked would be "better" but the cheapest one is already double the price of this deal. In fact, I would say for every $50-100 more you spend up to $2k you will get incrementally "better" sound. It just depends on budget and needs (plus a good deal never hurts).

True, but double is still only $50 bucks more. Given that most people probably watch 2 hours of tv a day or more, I'd say that $100 is a worthwhile investment. Purely subjective though, I admit.

Also since, TVs all have built-in speakers, you can always save up a little longer until you can afford the $100 bucks instead of $50.

The only reason I think a soundbar is ever a worthwhile investment is if you really don't have the space for speakers.

Just got mine today. Only a few hours on it but for $50 color me happy. The amp is a cute little speaker on the bottom but I wasn't expecting stadium grade gear.

Is it noticeably better than the TVs built-in speakers?

I just got mine today also and can vouch for the quality particularly for $50. I set it up with our bedroom TV and it's fantastic in the smaller room. May not be the greatest if it was attached to a 75" OLED but it's perfect for our 55" bedroom TV, and much better than the inbuilt speakers.

Do you think this is better than the Vizio V-Series V20x-J8 that is currently on sale for $55? I can't decide whether I should wait for this deal to come back/something similar with integrated subwoofers or get the Vizio despite not having integrated subwoofers like this Philips subwoofer?
