I have the sp9 with i7 and 16gb ram. Upgraded ssd to 1tb 2230 drive. This is my second sp (had sp6 before) and while the form factor is amazing, the cpu throttles very very fast with any remotely cpu intensive tasks. Running Lightroom and using the denoise on raw images 9r hdr stacking nearly instantly throttles the cpu down to a crawl becuaee the cooling is abysmal. I have added an exnal usb c powered fan made for the sp9 and it helps significantly but without the external fan, the i7 seems useless due to lack of cooling

Unless gaming do you really need that much Hard drive? Especially with cloud storage.

If I'm not running slightly demanding tasks, then I'm not sure I'd want to spend over $700 on a tablet without a keyboard.

Someone has said that the drive is upgradable, but then you're looking at another added $50-100 depending on what size you want, and maybe another $75 (just guessing, I haven't looked it up) on the keyboard.

Sucks the value proposition out of it pretty quickly.

And I'd want to do editing work on the go with it, which can fill up a hard drive.

the drive is easy to replace by watching YouTube video...have not done it yet. I have the Microsoft Surface Pro X that I got it because I saw it posted here and it was an open box for $300. It came with 500 gig. I did not plan to get it but the price was so good so I jumped at it. I was surprised how good the Surface was. The sound was phenomenal and great for Zoom. I was able to get through a Zoom Continuing Education thru the Surface speakers and it was clear and distinct. Normally I have to use my small portable bluetooth speakers to hear anything for Zoom with previous laptops. I loved the size and portability. It does have the previous ARM chip which limited which apps to use. Which is fine as I am limiting how many apps to use anyway.

the latest Surface Pro 11 ARM chip is much faster and I think I saw them for $800 on Ebay.

App compatibility for more edge cases may be an issue but if you just want this for general compute with Microsoft apps, the newer version should be considered since it's much faster with better battery performance.

example search https://www.ebay.com/itm/395702173660? $799. 16GB 256GB storage. LCD version though. not OLED

I'm so tempted to buy one of these. I'm a nurse and three years ago we had them at a psych facility I was at. They are so much better than a laptop for passing meds and stuff. Ugh

Which one is better the XPS 13 9315 2in1 or Surface pro? The Dell Xps seems cheaper with keyboard at some online retailers.

Yes, clicking on ipad/tablet is awesome for med pass and POC, but when it comes on narrative charting on ipad, I'm horrified. I rather used my ten fingers than eleven fingers for typing on actual keyboard.

I agree. The deal I posted a few weeks ago for the i5 version for $650 was a better deal imo, but unfortunately it didn't get that much attention
