If your mind was not blown by those visuals and that perfect soundtrack, then there is no pleasing you

It's not Shawshank Redemption or something like that, but the story was perfectly fine, with good humor and good to excellent acting from the leads.

Not to mention they built off an older movie which was almost strictly a sfx showcase, and very little story to grow from.

I think the movie gets a harder time than it deserves

Tron Legacy was deeper than a lot of people give it credit for. Probably a victim of being so beautiful both audio and visual.

But I mean just look at the theme of creator worship, feeling of betrayal by the creator, lashing out, and how both Sam and CLU's experience in those themes mirror each other.

You can't help feel sympathy for CLU for simply trying to do what he was created to do.

Sacrifice, innocence, the ability to be understanding... bio-digital jazz, man.

Reviews seem positive if you like the Tron movies and are OK with visual novels. Main complaint is it is short, like a planned 1st chapter of an ongoing series. I am debating getting it, so I did some research.
It is discounted on Steam as well, if you prefer a PC based version. It's coming up as $5.09 for me over there. On sale until 27 October, 2024

According to the trailer and a review video. It seems like this is an interactive novel that you can choose your path. It sort of reminds me of a less fun Oregon trail. Or even a interactive Netflix show where you make the decisions on what path to take. If your really into Tron or Tron Legacy this is like another chapter in the story.
So it's great for more Tron, but it doesnt look like it's for the masses

Some people like to have a tangible story with relatable characters, something Disney lacks a lot in their more recent movies.

No the really badly done bowiesque scene in the middle of the movie had me turning that off quick.

The movie was great, the only thing that sucked was them never making a 3rd. Supposedly from the failure of John Carter losing money they pulled the plug.

Honestly one of the most entertaining set pieces of the whole movie. It just wasn't your jam, and that's fine.

I always hate seeing the obvious sequel hook at the end, knowing the next one is never coming.

Edit - I was wrong, a third one is coming next year! Woooo

Last I read it was in early production. My biggest concern is Jared Leto is one of the leads.

Yeah, it was a great scene, I think that person didn't see it in the theater since he mentioned turning it off quick. It was great in the theater, I saw it in 3D, it was when the 3D craze was going on and it wasn't all that great in 3D compared to other 3d movies but it had its share of some decent 3D moments.
I'm glad to see talk here about a 3rd sequel finally coming out soon, been hoping for one. I saw the 1st Tron in 1982 in the theater when I was 9, it's been a big movie for me all these years.

Tron Legacy is one of my all time favorites. Top 5 for sure. Seen it probably 100 times.
Know every line, it got me into motorcycle riding, I always have the soundtrack playing when I ride, etc.

That said, the bar scene is probably the weakest scene in the movie.
It's just kinda doesn't fit, you can kinda tell it's just there to be a set piece or whatever.
Don't get me wrong, I love the scene. And it's still kinda important. But something about it is off.

Also her getting her arm cut off and not immediately de-rezzing always kinda bugged me.
And if they ARE gonna make it just an arm cut, why does is just completely put her out of commission? Just little nitpicks.

Lastly, anyone ever notice how when Gem tells Sam her name, the visuals go from super Trony to kinda humany?
