If your mind was not blown by those visuals and that perfect soundtrack, then there is no pleasing you

It's not Shawshank Redemption or something like that, but the story was perfectly fine, with good humor and good to excellent acting from the leads.

Not to mention they built off an older movie which was almost strictly a sfx showcase, and very little story to grow from.

I think the movie gets a harder time than it deserves

Tron Legacy was deeper than a lot of people give it credit for. Probably a victim of being so beautiful both audio and visual.

But I mean just look at the theme of creator worship, feeling of betrayal by the creator, lashing out, and how both Sam and CLU's experience in those themes mirror each other.

You can't help feel sympathy for CLU for simply trying to do what he was created to do.

Sacrifice, innocence, the ability to be understanding... bio-digital jazz, man.

Honestly one of the most entertaining set pieces of the whole movie. It just wasn't your jam, and that's fine.

I always hate seeing the obvious sequel hook at the end, knowing the next one is never coming.

Edit - I was wrong, a third one is coming next year! Woooo
I was enjoying it until that weirdness happened.

Tron Legacy is one of my all time favorites. Top 5 for sure. Seen it probably 100 times.
Know every line, it got me into motorcycle riding, I always have the soundtrack playing when I ride, etc.

That said, the bar scene is probably the weakest scene in the movie.
It's just kinda doesn't fit, you can kinda tell it's just there to be a set piece or whatever.
Don't get me wrong, I love the scene. And it's still kinda important. But something about it is off.

Also her getting her arm cut off and not immediately de-rezzing always kinda bugged me.
And if they ARE gonna make it just an arm cut, why does is just completely put her out of commission? Just little nitpicks.

Lastly, anyone ever notice how when Gem tells Sam her name, the visuals go from super Trony to kinda humany?

It has a few weak parts...the part where Clu, a copy of the main user, doesn't understand he's camped out in a glowing mansion within sight of the city seems really odd...

Yes, the bar is obviously a set piece that someone said "this is cool" and put it in. I enjoy it strictly on that.

Her not derezzing is explained extremely vaguely when she's being fixed - it's because she's an ISO and is different. But the programs should have at least looked shocked that she lived.

It's not a award winning movie. It's a fun movie with an absolutely killer soundtrack.

Is it just me (in the USA) but I go to the Nintendo store and pull up tron: identity and it still says $15.

Is anyone else having the issue where you click on links to some sites and it opens a window for a second and then closes? I thought it was just the firewall on my work pc but it's doing it on my personal as well.

According to the trailer and a review video. It seems like this is an interactive novel that you can choose your path. It sort of reminds me of a less fun Oregon trail. Or even a interactive Netflix show where you make the decisions on what path to take. If your really into Tron or Tron Legacy this is like another chapter in the story.
So it's great for more Tron, but it doesnt look like it's for the masses
So is there not any action? Are you not playing the game and walking around and fighting and such? If so that's a massive miss and my kids will be bored.
