These are extremely comfortable. Went on a 3 month backpacking trip with these as my dailies.
Lowest price I remember in over 10 years and those were seconds.
Have them cleaned/shined and they look like new thx to the chxm leather.
And, no they are absolutely not birth control.
I have been wearing this type of boot for a few years. FWIW, here is my take.
The Redwing Rangers are probably the most durable of this type of shoe that I have ever worn. Those things might survive a nuclear blast.....but the toe cap sits right on the edge of looking like a clown shoe on a bad day. They are great...but were never really meant to dress up with. They are comfortable ....but not the most comfortable that I have ever worn.
Thursday's Captains are probably going to be the most comfortable out of the box. They are well made and are very nice shoes that can also serve as serve as a dress up for a night out shoe. They are comfortable and well worth the price.
The Wolverine 1000 Mile sits comfortably between the Rangers and the Captains. They have the style to dress up while being hella durable. The name "1000 Mile" is not an accident. That is not to say that you are guaranteed to get 1000 miles (You might)...but you will get a VERY long life....and there is a little breaking in. They are every bit as comfortable as the Captains once they get broken in.
Truthfully...if I were pushed to pick.... the most comfortable boot that I ever wore was Grant Stone...but the difference is minimal and you would never know if you were not comparing them side by side.
And FWIW....all three of these have goodyear welting. You do not see it much anymore...but that means they can be resoled.
Some people might understand this and some probably will not. But every once in a while you get a pair of shoes broken in just perfect...just right....and they become one of your favorites. And you know from experience that it is hard to duplicate that...even if you go buy an exact pair. It is then that resoling will really mean something to you.

I tried one of these in store, they feel very hard, like they made of wood..
Its probably going to take few months of daily wear to brake them in...
I am not willing to do that, my feet will break by then.
