Guacamelee 2 is a legit all-time classic metroidvania with a killer soundtrack and outclasses this whole list. Probably. I haven't played Layers of Fear or Observer. I see inbento has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam, so that's probably worth a look.

Turnip Boy is a fun little Zelda-type thing with decent jokes. I bought it at full price when it launched and wasn't hugely satisfied, but $3.74 is very fair.

By the way, in case you saw Observer and thought "Wait, if this is Observer, then what's that game where you're a weird shadow person spying on everyone in an apartment building?" then you're thinking of Beholder. Which I think everyone has in their Steam library from one of the early Humble Bundles.
