You need to know how many watts your modem/router use to know how long this will last. Hobotech tested this on YouTube and got 74% efficiency for the River 2. That would be approximately 190 watt hours from the unit. Take 190 and divide it by the total watts used by your modem/router to get an approximate number of hours it will last before depleted.

Example: If your modem/router draws 50 watts combined, the River 2 will power it for approximately 3.8 hours. (190/50=3.8)

The inverter in this unit is more efficient for larger loads. The unit is less efficient for low power loads.

Edit to add: I own 3 of these. I like this unit a lot, it's a handy little device if you have a use case for it.

Thanks. Needs a kill-a-watt to figure out for sure then. Do common router/modem use 50W?

No worries about not knowing how many cycles have been on these batteries?

I find it funny that in 2 of the pictures they are using usb-c adapters in the outlets. They know a single port is a flaw and that battery to inverter to adapter to phone battery is the work around.

Won't allow assigning more than 119 ecocredits. i think it's capped by the dollar amount of the item. That equates to only a $5.95 discount. CapitalOne Shopping already found the EF7PCTOFF code that is a superior -$8.33 discount.
Still, at $110.67 before tax it represents good value but not the bleeding edge value $94 would be (works out just around $100 with 6.5% tax), so I'm hoping someone can show me how to apply all 500 ecocredits...

The manual for your router/modem should have a section that tells maximum wattage used. Some sticker on the router/modem should also probably have this info. However, that's maximum used and may not be what it actually uses during normal usage. As you mentioned, a Kill-a-watt type device would be best to figure out your exact power usage over time. The sticker/manual info could get you a worst case scenario number.

Thanks. Sounds like picking up one of these first is ideal regardless. Some hrs of usage while waiting for power restore does sound very useful.

Works but for me the Internet seems to be out with the power even though modem and router have power.

Yeah I used a Jackery for Milton.
Most of my area lost internet because they have Spectrum but I have t-mobile home internet so we had internet for the whole 6 day power outage.

Good question. I was actually in the process of draining one of my units so I did some tests. To answer you question quickly: Yes, it is possible.

Have it updated to the latest firmware so it has "lab features". Under "energy management" I have it set to a discharge limit of 5%, so when it hits 5% remaining power it shuts off the Ecoflow unit. For "AC timeout" set it to "never". Under "Lab features" set "AC always on" to "on". What will happen is, the unit will run to 5% and turn everything off. When AC power is restored, the unit will start charging. Once it hit's 10% charge, it will turn the AC power outlets back on.

I don't use my devices as UPS units. If that is your end goal, I have read previously that the charge of the battery vs what is displayed can drift after some time. I don't have first hand experience with that use case.
