I completely agree, that's been my experience too! But for something I'm going to just toss on the smoker overnight, I'm not too worried about the quality. I guess my cheap ass will just do another pork butt instead.

Killer deal! Unfortunately our Fred Meyer only has them "on sale" for $75. I refuse to pay that much for a brisket. For 2 bucks a pound I'd be filling the freezer!

Killer deal! Unfortunately our Fred Meyer only has them "on sale" for $75. I refuse to pay that much for a brisket. For 2 bucks a pound I'd be filling the freezer!

They never sell good meat cheap at FM. When the meat is cheap, it tastes only as good as it costs. I'm guessing the same goes for Kroger as a whole. Looking at the reviews for the brisket, it probably is.

It takes the digital coupon to work at my Fred Meyer, these couponless deals won't work. I grind up this brisket for dynamite meaty burgers on the grill.
