  • Offer Terms:
    • Eligibility and Enrollment
      • Enrollment is limited. Eligible Card Members must first add offer to Card and then use same Card for qualifying spend. Only US-issued American Express Cards are eligible.
      • Limit of 1 statement credit per eligible Card Member account. If the Card Account is canceled or past due, it may not qualify to receive a statement credit.
    • Qualifying Purchases
      • Offer valid only for Walmart+ annual memberships purchased online only at US website walmart.com/plus. Includes Walmart+ annual memberships purchased in-app.
      • Excludes Walmart+ monthly memberships, all other Walmart.com transactions, in-store purchases, and other recurring subscription services not mentioned as qualifying.
      • If you receive a free trial, charges may not post to your account until the trial has lapsed.
      • Charges must post to your account before 1/15/2025 in order to qualify.
      • Please note if you purchase a membership, unless you notify the merchant that you want to pause, cancel, or that you do not want to auto renew, your membership will automatically renew for another membership period (subject to applicable law) of equal length (for example monthly, or annually). This means that the merchant will collect the then-applicable membership fee and any taxes by charging a credit card the merchant has on record for you without notifying you, unless notification is required by applicable law.
      • Offer valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
      • Offer only valid on purchases made directly with the merchant. Offer not valid on purchases made using third parties, such as resellers, delivery services, or other intermediaries.
    • Statement Credit
      • Please allow 90-days after 1/15/2025 for the statement credit(s) to be posted to the Account, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.
  • Please see the original post for additional details & give the WIKI and additional forum comments a read for helpful discussion.

Who in the great hell of platinum cardholders would care about this when they get free monthly Walmart+ membership already?
To my knowledge it is only if you apply for government assistance through SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, etc. No idea how 'anyone' can get it now for $49… https://www.walmart.com/plus/assist
My membership that I got for $49 or maybe even less last year is up for renewal... I told it to cancel... It offered to reduce the rate to $49.

LOL same here. IIRC Amex had the $49 offer and WM was offering $50 in Walmart cash, basically making the service free/cheap for a year. I signed up, went to WM to cash out the $$ (whatever it was, $40, $50, I don't remember), connected my Paramount+ account (which we don't watch) and haven't used the service at all.

Watch out for paramount+ account renewal. It would auto-renew if you don't cancel it.

I believe if your not interested in continuing you could cancel anytime and you will continue service until it expires this way you dont have to worry about its auto renew

Came here to say the same thing....I don't understand the benefit here when the monthly is fully covered.
