There have been like three different things called google pay which might be the source of the confusion. At one point I believe it did refer to a thing you could use to pay online.

Would there be any reason to just close it down rather than just not use it? It seems like closing an account would hurt your credit score a bit. If there's no annual fee, I don't see a reason to close it.

Dont care . My credit score may dip a little but its still great and wont matter much. It will come back. Another factor is how much credit is extended to you and I have such high limits I never use. I need to cut down on my credit cards and Discover is the most likely candidate at the moment

There is no benefit to canceling your card. If you don't plan to use it, put it in a drawer and leave it there. Let Discover cancel it at some point, if they so choose.

Do you need an Apple phone for ApplePay or can it also be used on an Android device?

apparently credit card companies are looking more at utilization these days than in the past. Is that true? My utilization is usually only around 1% - 5%. If I close some cards wouldn't that raise my utilization rate so I have a higher chance of getting new cards?

What are some major retailers that carry physical gift cards and accept mobile tap-to-pay beyond applepay? Seems like target and?
