Probably the best delayed sequel ever. Completely different tone than The Shining, but picks up the story perfectly. Mike Flanagan always respects the source material but adds his own flair to the adaptations. Great great movie

Yeah they're Blu Ray DL or TL. 8K will use XL I believe.

Not a very good deal compared to around $10 when the digital code inside was still valid. When buying Warner Bros Blu-ray, find out the digital copy expiration date. That digital code is worth $5 alone. Factor that into your buying decision. Sometimes if it's slightly higher than what you'd like to pay for a 4K Blu-ray but includes a working digital copy, it's worth considering.

This is another one of those situations where the transfer may not be worth it.

This transfer isn't a significant jump over the BR version which is a decent one.
Especially if you have a good upscaling player/display.

There is no audio upgrade, they both have the same object based soundtrack.

Would have been nice to get the directors cut on disc though!

I'm fairly apathetic to movies and TV as an adult, but my dad had me watching stuff no 8-year-old should see. Like American Werewolf in London and the first Alien movie. So, I watched a lot of it then. Kubrick's film is my favorite movie, one of the only "horror" movies that get to me. I went into the movie expecting to be let down and I was not. It's a decent movie.

For me this movie was a pretty disturbing and I watch a lot of horror movies. Maybe I am just a wimp.

Do any of these actually include digital?? This is a great movie just watched it for the 2nd time last weekend. The directors cut is only on bku ray while the 4k is only the theatrical release (unfortunately).. not sure if there is a 4k directors cut on any streaming apps.
