Number Barn is *not* working anymore (it's not giving the port-in discount). I thought maybe my account had been flagged but then I found this thread. This also might explain why my numbers from Number Barn from over 3 weeks ago never finished porting-into Metro - I can make calls using those Metro phones and the caller id is showing the right numbers, but if I try to call those numbers I get the Number Barn greeting. In addition, I can still see those numbers in my Number Barn account (they are showing with "porting away" status).

Anyways, I will try getting a visible # now. Thanks all for the tips!

Argh, it seems like there's a problem with Visible's website right now. When I try to sign up for a new plan and Bring my phone, then on the next page select iOS and nothing happens. I tried on my laptop as well as my phone with the same results. Guess I will just have to wait until the morning.

Glad it worked out for you.. I found that their app experience is pretty good for getting esim without much hassle

Yes, it went OOS briefly then back in stock after I posted that. I tried to purchase the phone but ran into a weird issue with the website. I decided to sleep on it and just tried again, this time I was able to get to the last step (after entering my cc info) but got the dreaded "Please
contact us to complete your order" page. It looks like this account has been flagged as well. A bit surprising as that's only after having purchased 2 iPhone 12's previously. I suspect they are cracking down on accounts that have previously used VoIP numbers to port-in. I will wait an hour for the port-in request to get cancelled and then try with a different account, though that one has even less chance of succeeding.

Has anyone succeeded in creating an account for minor children?

The VOIP phone numbers from NumberBarn and Google Voice takes several weeks to complete the port in. If you call Metro port dept they will force the port completion immediately while you are on the phone with them. It seemed like Metro no longer accepts VOIP phone numbers from NumberBarn and Google Voice.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize the port could take several weeks - I had read 5-7 days. What happens if the account expires before the port-in completes? Does the port get cancelled? The reason I ask is that one of the numbers is actually a "good" number that I want to keep (and port back to NumberBarn). The problem is that that number is associated with a phone which I didn't want to open so I'm unable to receive the PIN that is needed in order to get the port-out info. I then tried transferring the number to a different phone but it gave an error. Maybe the error is because the number hasn't finished porting-in. I will call Metro and try forcing the port. Thank you

When I got my iPhone 13 initial line from Metro by way of GV, I had to call Metro to complete the port. This was more than a week prior to my order for a second line. Then last week after phones were back in stock, I ordered the iPhone 12 with port from Visible, and it did work. (First attempt didn't work but I had also paused several minutes on one of the screens during checkout so perhaps something timed out, and the second time I was ready to go through all screens without delay, and it went though.) Good luck.

For those who are only interested in trading in the phone to apple for a gift card, you can use your current phone number and port out information but once you get the phone, just bring it straight to apple without actually doing the port out or activating the new phone with metro.

Have you done this? And is there a different value to an unopened iPhone 12 compared to one that was used for a day or two? I've never tried this, but I always figured that as long as there is no actual damage or any apparent wear and tear, and the phone is in working condition (turns on, battery holds a charge), the potential to get the maximum value for each respective iPhone model would be there.
