It was. When we were able to trade it in for the Pixels. But not anymore!

Apple will give you $180 toward a new iphone for each iPhone 12 you trade in. Best Buy will give you a $145 e-gift card to spend on anything you like. You can't lose money on this deal.

There is no mention about needing service to be active the whole time, I bought a few phones when the unlock policy was 180 days, I only paid for the 1st month and they all unlocked at the 180 day mark, or maybe a few days later, you must be the new boy 🤣

Hopefully this clarify your question. You will only need to pay for the 1st month (essentially to activate the account/phone). After one month, you don't need to renew (make sure you don't sign up for autopay). Leave the phone alone (you can use it as wifi connected). After one year, the phone will automatically unlock it self.

In short , one month of service fee only, but it takes 1 year to unlock.

Do we need to activate the iphone to trigger auto unlock? Or is it fine activating the number online in Metro website? Thinking of keeping the phone sealed and brand new in drawer for 12 months.

So I get a number for 5$ from visible using some promocode,
Then I get this phone for 75$ if I use the Metro Flex Plus plan which is 70/month.
It is locked for 12 months. Can I just buy the phone and stop paying for the service? Will it unlock regardless after a year?
If it does, great deal. If not, I ain't buying as it's like 75 for phone +70 for 1month service and 5 for new visible phone number so 150 bucks for new phone essentially. It is retailing for 300$ ish on ebay at the moment, also not sure if this phone is going to get any good trade in deals this festive season.

Got line 1 and activated. Ordered line 2. Tried to order line 3 but says not eligible. Do I have to wait till line 2 is delivered before ordering line 3 or am I done?

You don't need to continue the service after the first month (make sure that autopay is not enabled). So your cost will be $75 + $5 (Visible discounted plan) + taxes (if applicable).

Line 2 needs to be activated before you can order line 3. Activated doesn't necessarily mean delivered - you can activate it online before having received it. Once the phone is shipped you will get an email from Metro and in that email there is a link to activate it.

Yep, every time you order a new line/phone seems like you have to activate it before ordering another one
