Use it as a trade in to get a free 16
There is no such thing as a "FREE" phone. The companies that give it as "FREE" are charging you 3 or 4 times as much for the service.

When you activated the second line, did you keep the second line active for the entire month? Like my first line is about to expire in two days and second line will be activated tomorrow.. i m not sure if i can add another line while not paying for my primary line but on second line.. any thoughts

For $100 more the iPhone 13 may be worth it. Same chip as iPhone 14 and Toms Guide says battery lasts longer on the 13.
Do you have a link, please?

The Metro 611 text telling me to pay the $64 immediately was probably was just an accounting adjustment. I looked everywhere in my Metro online account and I did not see the $64 charge. I will just ignore it. After porting out the phone number for the first phone I lost the $35 discount for phone #2 and #3. So I had to pay $150 for the first month for phone #2 and #3. Metro already collected ($35 + $35) , so $64 is the prorated amount that I allegedly owed for the first month for phone #2 and #3. It was prorated because I bought phone #2 and #3 at different dates based on the due date of phone #1.

I do not know what will happen if you ported out the phone number for phone #2 and #3 and kept phone #1. Different people will have a different amount that is due immediately. You an just ignore it.
i guess port out primary line that will make Metro to make second line as primary line

Yes visible still works. They've cracked down on VoIP numbers.
Some Citi credit cards currently have a visible promotion for $25 credit on $20+ purchase. I was able to sign up on their premium plan with a half off promo for $22.50 and received $25 credit a few days later. Looks like that promo is gone, but they now have a $20/month promo for the lower plan.

If you're trading it in, not much.

If you're selling it on, having an eSIM on the device will open you up to a Not as Described claim on eBay, etc. if you sold it as "brand new". If the eSIM (and account, suspended or not) is paired to the device and you sell it on to a Metro user, they won't be able to activate it on Metro and that will also generate a Not as Described claim.

If you want to resell the smart thing to do is:
  • Activate the line.
  • Move the line to another device to ensure the original IMEI is clear.
  • Factory reset the iPhone.
You can do all of that with an open box, without having to remove the plastic on the phone.

Advertise it as "like new, open box, SIM removed" and anyone buying will know exactly what they're getting.
What if I port the number away from the unopened device? Will that unpair it from Metro?
