If you just click "Activate" on the Metro order status page but do not physically turn on the new iPhone, will it kick off the 365 days lock period? Will it unlock after 365 days?

I tried porting a visible number but got an error message and now they won't accept my number to port. Will it auto unlock or do I need to call Metro to release the number? It's been over 24 hours.

Purchased 2 iPhone 12s. At Apple Store to trade in. One phone was fine, but the 2nd phone was not accepted for trade in because Apple trade in system claimed it was not factory original. Hmmm...

If you look at Metro's unlocking policy, they specifically state that phone/device activation is required in order to unlock (clicking Activate online only activates the line). To my knowledge nobody has verified this. There are a couple of users here (myself included) that are considering keeping an unopened Metro iPhone for a year to see what happens.

During the extension do you still get discounted pricing ($35) on the line? I applied for an extension yesterday but they wanted to charge me full price ($75) on the line, but maybe I waited too long.

I believe it's cheaper to go through Visible $5 than buying port numbers now, which are now priced around $15. But I see the convenience of buying port numbers especially if you don't have an unlocked phone with an eSIM to host the Visible number.
The problem is that I've hit a limit with Visible - it's no longer letting me create new accounts.

In my case it wasn't too hard for them to figure out as I was using the same mailing address and friend referral code. I had read that the limit was 5 per IMEI so I was alternating between two different devices (IMEI #) for the signups but they cut me off at 5 total I believe (I'll need to check my notes). I'm going to try again using a different device.

Nope, same mailing address and credit card every time. I don't think they care about the address or billing or anything. Just don't want 20 lines on one phone for some reason
