Resolution is too low. 1600p would be perfect for 39 inch. 800R is too aggressive.

It's great! I have the 34in and it's fantastic for gaming or movies. Doc files / surfing its just ok.

800r curve is perfect. Really hard to go back to anything less. And of course YMMV

It's probably pretty good at 34 but not at 39

Agreed on both points here. Can we get rid of this aggressive curve trend? A tiny bit of curve 1800-1900R is OK, but 800R is like when someone overly bends the bill on their hat. It just looks ridiculous.

it looks absurd even in the photos. What are we doing here? wrap-around monitor from ear to ear

My son has the 34" version and loves it. The curve seems aggressive at first, he came from a 1500R monitor but you quickly get used to it and due to how wide the screen is, I don't think it's bad being curved like that. Colors look great so gaming sure is nice with that.

I think the same resolution but on a 39" might be low but I haven't seen one in person.

Just a heads up, I saw this on the LG website for this monitor.

"The title of the product is misleading. G-Sync is only available on the DisplayPort, which is capable of only 140 Hz because the $1,500 monitor is limited to the outdated DisplayPort 1.4. Therefore, you must choose between 240 Hz with no G-Sync (HDMI) or 144 Hz with G-Sync (DisplayPort) despite spending $1,500. This would have stopped me from buying this product but there was nothing indicating this on the packaging at best buy and I only found out after buying a display port 2.1 cable ($30) and finding that it was still limited to 144 Hz."

I saw this in person at local bestbuy. The curve is very aggressive. I think it is designed for people who sit at a distance around 18inch - 24inch. For me, the image appeared bent, distorted when I sit around 2.5 feet from the screen.

As I own this exact monitor (switched from Alienware 38" IPS) I will list my pros and cons.
Pros:
It's OLED, and there is no going back to IPS/VA/TN from an image quality perspective, the colors and black levels are simply unmatched by any monitor I've ever owned. I'd dare say it's the best single image quality upgrade I've ever made.

It's faster than I'll ever care about, being non-competitive, I don't care about hyper-fast frames and tend to put my settings in the middle of performance/image quality, @ 1440p I want to see between 60FPS-120FPS.

For gaming (the vast majority of my use) the curve is fantastic, and very immersive.
Screen size is perfect for my distance to the monitor, coming from a 38" I knew I couldn't go smaller.

Aesthetically speaking, the monitor looks great on the desk, and isn't too "gamer"-y looking, despite the aggressive looking curve. The stock stand doesn't feel flimsy, or cheap.

Cons:
PPI is worse than my old Alienware due to 1440p vs 1600p. I do wish LG had gone with 1600p as the slight drop is noticeable with text. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but I also have a 32" 2nd monitor that I use for most of my browsing and reading.

The curve, while fantastic in game, is very noticeable when doing anything else. If I end up using the monitor for non-gaming purposes I find myself using the middle 70% of the screen, and staying away from the sides of the monitor to avoid the visible distortion.

There is a chance of burn-in due to the panel type. This generation of OLEDs does have better antiburn-in features than previous gens, and I have not seen any image retention, but it is at least possible. I do take a few extra steps to further minimize the risk. I keep all of my static desktop icons on my 2nd monitor, autohide my taskbar, and use an animated wallpaper on the OLED.

Thank you. I have the Alienware 38 too and wish this was at least 1600p. Imagine a 1800p or higher… I appreciate your comment.

I have the 45" and love it, but some people will prefer this because the ppi is better.
