you obviously don't have the phone. It's a very good budget phone that's a better performer than the Moto Play, Moto G, and Stylus 2023 and previous. Those Moto's get one software upgrade if you are lucky while the Samsung's get 5 years. You calling a $36. phone "trash" is laughable.

The phone will be locked to Tracfone for 60 days. You can use the phone on a different service provider after it's unlocked. TF won't auto charge you. You can stop using it once all TTD is used.

Test a SIM card from another network to see if that will work. Some devices show carrier unlock status via Settings - About.

I previously purchased a Tracfone Moto G Stylus 5G and service bundle from QVC. The phone unlocked automatically after 60 days. I did chat with them to request unlock but service rep said the phone was already unlocked.
