PCIe Gen3x4, for anyone that is wondering
300tbw. This is extremely low endurance rating for a 2280 SSD. I would suggest passing on this one and spending a bit more.
Nah, it's just that Gen 4 is the most recent. But they are still quite usable.

This is a cheap drive at a relatively cheap price. I'm familiar with the brand (they make external drive cabinets) but know nothing about their SSDs.

It's just older tech that's being phased out, the read and write speeds are going to be slower but you won't notice unless you're doing heavier tasks like gaming or editing video. Still a lot faster than a spinning drive.

Nothing wrong with that.. most people won't even notice the speed differences and not everyone needs the latest and greatest.

Anyone know about the quality of this drive? I've bought some storage related stuff from this brand before and found out they have very high failure rates.

True true, once officially phased out all gen 3 drives will simultaneously stop working across the globe. Sort of like the Y2K glitch. 👌😂

I highly doubt orico is manufacturing their own controller and nand.

You mean Gen5 is the most recent. Gen4 is simply the most currently produced
