Sure wish all cordless tools used the same battery system.....why do I have to belong to a club??

So many chargers, and usually need charging right when I want to use them.

Any suggestion/advice on this versus the HD Milwaukee M12 Fuel deal that comes with impact driver, hammer drill and ratchet for $179.99. This one has most of the above tools and comes with a 1/2" impact wrench which I really want. I am a weekend DIYer and sometimes work on my car?

I bought that recip saw a while back based on the "best reciprocating saw test" by toolboxbuzz/ concord carpenter on YouTube. I've had it over a year and it's great, good power and size. Just keep decent blades

I personally love the Kobalt Line. I've had this kit (with the smaller hand held sawzall and the oscillating multi-tool) for years and do general weekend warrior type DIY stuff. I've never had an issue with any of the tools and highly recommend them to anyone asking for suggestions on a tool set. My dad has the Milwaukee M18 Fuel set and I will say they do feel marginally better in quality. That said, we restored the deck on the back of his house a couple years ago and he preferred using my Kobalt impact driver.

The M12 line is fantastic for a smaller tool set and I think they're very well made. If you watch Project Farm on YouTube with smaller handheld drills/screwdrivers the Milwaukee was very impressive, IYKYK.

TL;DR - You can't go wrong with either set, but the 24v Kobalt line has a pretty wide range of tools now for lots of different applications including yard applications. I don't regret getting into that tool family at all.

The free 1/2 impact wrench is in relative low torque range (250 ft-lb).
