I disagree, a smoked out, beat up, drawers barely working, toolbox isn't worth the money unless it's $50-100. bought one on a whim 5 years ago. Never again.

This toolbox set was $199 at my local homedepot. They cleared out the old model, new ones $4xx.
Well I am not talking about beat to crap boxes. There are plenty of nice boxes out there used.

You made a bad purchase. Doesn't make everyone's purchase like yours.

The 199 should be the expired deal on SD. Waiting for clearance in my local warehouse again

I bought this but in a different color a month or so ago. It fit my space well, and is well built. My previous plastic tool chest was self destructing, and I couldn't find my tools without digging, so it was time.
The previous deal for $199 was YMMV and I couldn't find any near me. This is a better deal than what I paid.
Quick review:
  • I like the integrated power strip and cord hole on the top. Its a good spot for batteries and chargers.
  • The drawers are soft close. They do take a slightly harder tug to open, which doesn't bother me at all.
  • The standard series will still hold about 100 lbs per drawer. This is only 27" wide, so unless you are storing solid iron weights, you are unlikely to go over the max.
  • I would buy again. It looks nice and is well built. The equivalent HF US General chests hold less weight per drawer and did not soft close.

This was $199 couple months ago. I bought the blue color at local HD. You're paying $100 more if you're buying this now.
Yes. I was hoping this deal would come up again. They also had grey available at 199

How would this compare to the Harbor Freight /. US General 27" cabinet? Seems a lot cheaper even with the best HF deals so thinking the Husky is likely not as good?
The HF 27" is 22" inches deep. This one is 18", but because it comes with a top box it's about 20% more voluminous than just the lower HF, which is taller, has more drawers, and a better layout. It was recently on sale for $279. I do like the soft close doors, but the 18" depth is a deal breaker for me.

FYI, that was a one day sale. (I also don't like the 18" depth on the Husky.)

DAY 7 of 10: Get the U.S. General 27" Roll Cab for only $279.99! Save $120! Valid Sunday, 9/29 ONLY, In-store only.

Fwiw I went and looked at these at HD and they are not junk but they are close. One of them had a buckled wheel, several others were badly scratched, had crummy drawers, etc. I guess if you can cull a good one its an okay deal but man what a bunch of junk
