I would recommend starting with the basic 3 pack they have put together (Model# 48-22-8401, but you may be able to get a deal with the buy more event) plus adding the 10" tool box (ammo can) and a tool bag or tote (10" or 15" will let you sit these side-by-side with the ammo can). This is my standard setup and has served me well.
I also have the drawer style which has it's own purpose (but not where I'd start).
I use one of the deep organizers as an electrician load out and another one for all my screws.

Rolling toolbox(303005865), Large portable toolbox(303005621), and 3 Drawer(315059793) come out to $407.97-$150=$257.97 Which is about as cheap as these items will get, unless BF this year beats last year's prices. Save more using Chase 5% using PP.

The only thing I could come up with was buying eight of the 22-in small parts organizer trays. But $32 a piece feels really expensive. Generally speaking I have no need to haul 300 lb of tools around in a rolling tote system on a daily basis.

Anyone have any standard recommendations on a good packout setup including the rolling toolbox? Mostly just to keep basic tools organized.

i'll never forgive myself for not pulling the trigger a year ago on a deal posted here for the packout. it was the 3-peice set for $179. Now, just the 3 drawer is $179 by itself... ugh.
bought the rolling chest from Flex deal and returned it - found it inconvenient for an occasional DIY'er (well, maybe I was using those crates incorrectly; I just couldn't lay out the tools neatly and ensure quick access). was hoping to buy just a decent tool bag but it seems like the promo only applies to their molded products. anyway, would appreciate any recommendation on good organization of a few power tools, a dozen of hand tools, and consumables that worked well for you.
Damn, the PACKOUT 22 in. Rolling Modular Tool Box shows out of stock for me now
I still see 14 available for delivery. Also try another local store for pick up to see if it is still available. I had to pick up the hoodie deal this morning from another store otherwise I got the the OOS message during check out.
Has anyone found some good 3d printed organizers for these particular units? Or foam with cutouts for common Milwaukee tools? Like someone else mentioned, I want to get into the Packout lineup, but hard case boxes just end up with tools being thrown in them randomly as a DIYer, and don't necessarily help me stay any more organized. I realize the 3d printed organizers and foam will be tool specific, but anything that works for some of the common m12 and m18 tools would be great. They might convince me to pull the trigger.

I bought two. the 2 drawer and 3 drawer systems. I've been wanting more of these for over a year but the deals sucked.
