It's heavy AND fun. Played with my 8 year old and it was a great way to prompt a talk about death, loss and sacrifice in a low stakes setting. We've done multiple playthroughs since, and the 100% run got us talking about how creating shared memories is important, both for you and for the person you share them with.

It's a lovely game, and you get to be a cat and knock stuff off tables.

Do you mean the game or the movie? I don't want to give away any spoilers but the plot is kind of heavy. I really liked the game but I don't think it would necessarily make a "fun" movie.

Like I said the I really liked the game also. I just don't think that a movie adaptation, unless they changed the themes and mood, would make a "fun" movie. But, yes I enjoyed playing the game.

the first 3 hours I was looking for stuff to knock over and harass the NPCs. great story, was hoping for a longer story, but I know that the devs had a small team, hoping for a sequel, but probably not going to happen and probably doesn't need one

At times, the game is challenging and involves just a lot of running around... but there's a certain satisfaction when you figure how to progress to the next area.

Overall, most of it is cute (the cat's sounds and animations). A bit dark at times, especially if your character gets overpowered and/or the later levels.

I think I paid about $30 for it. I can see why it won a bunch of awards. For this price, worth a try. I had no problem selling my used copy for $20 or $25.

Oh man, sounds like you didn't even beat it? You're missing out. Really incredible game for what seems like such a simple premise. Enjoyed it so much I bought the iam8bit special edition and double LP (I don't even own a record player) just to frame and hang up in the game loft.

This game was free on ps+. I had high expectations, but not only did it let me down, it was flat out boring. The few other games that I've played by the developer, Annapurna Interactive, all seemed to be more art and ideas than actual fun gameplay. Stray (finished), Gorogoa (finished), Journey (finished), Maquette (didn't finish), The Artful Escape (finished), and about 30 minutes of Outer Wilds (which I will push through someday based on stellar reviews) are the ones I've played, and because of them I'm hesitant to invest the time into anything else from this studio. If anyone has any advice on a game that will change my mind on Annapurna, please let me know.

I bought it using credit card bonus points earned from paying for a private room at a strip club in Vegas. 6 hours may be short for a game but is at least longer than my time spent at the club.
