The "limited lifetime warranty" on torque wrenches is different than the "lifetime warranty" on other Husky tools and excludes calibration. I don't know of any brand torque wrench warranty that actually does include calibration as it is just the nature of these things to go out of calibration with use and time.

Are you replacing head gaskets? Rebuilding short blocks? Installing main bearings? Crank bearings?
If you are, $50 torque wrench may not be your best tool. Something digital with angle sensors and better calibrated may be what you're looking for.
If you are replacing axles, suspension components, subframe bolts, etc. this will do just fine.

How do you test the accuracy of one of these? I have a cheapo HF model and it just doesn't seem right.
You can use a luggage scale, a digital torque adapter, or stop by an auto parts store or tool truck and use their bench tester.

Many videos on how to calibrate them on YT

They used them in the past before digital, I'm sure people will be fine with them now. I have a set of these, but I also have a set of matco usa made. They both work well. Digital is nice, but if you can't hear the loud clack of the torque wrench, maybe you shouldn't be rebuilding an engine

I didn't mean to say it has calibration in warranty. I meant, if I feel it is out of calibration, I would go and do a warranty exchange.

Oof, I just bought the "LEXIVON Torque Wrench 1/2-Inch Drive Click 10~150 Ft-Lb/13.6~203.5 Nm (LX-183)" from Amazon. Haven't even opened it. Time to make a visit to staples for a return. The lifetime warranty does it for me.

You can put it on your wheel lug nut with wheel still on ground. set the torque and put appropriate weight set it torque and hang it by the end of the torque wrench. It should click at the right setting otherwise you would tighten or loosen the spring.

For example, if you set the torque to 50 ft-lbs, when you put the 50 lbs weight, it should click.

Just giving you an idea. Some people do it on a bench vise.

What do you mean by 'calibration'?
usage of the torque wrench over the period of time can make it lose its accuracy, so any tool has a tolerance associated with it. when it is out of it, it needs to restored back to work within in its said tolerance.

What's the consensus on the accuracy of these? Better than HF but still wont use on engine components?
these are usually 95 - $100. much better than HF. for $100 one might be tempted to buy Icon split beam.

I just thought about using luggage scale as well.

EDIT:
I was reading from bottom up - seems I was beat to the luggage scale.

I feel like I've seen tekton mentioned here before. But when I searched amazon, a few products were not well reviewed...
