Yes it gets a little hot - but not to a point where I feel it's damaging the phone or battery.
The 5k gets almost a full charge on my phone- it's definitely ideal for a pocket sized "grab and go" situation. Love it for exactly that- bolt onto the back of your phone and keep from dying as your running around in the evening. Idk if this 10k one will be significantly bulkier… but the 5k version I have charged and "on hand" all the time due to its tiny size and portability.
