They make both, but I agree. I bought the last deal and didn't realize the blade was right side blade. Definitely takes getting used to. It is nice not having sawdust all over me though.

Why do they put the blade on that side?

I'm confused why people complain about right side bladed circular saws. Most people are right handed so I thought the blade was on the right so you can use your right hand without having to reach across the blade. This way you don't get your arm chopped off if a kickback happens and the blade guard doesn't have time to retract or it gets stuck open during the kick.

Unless you're holding a circular saw with your pinky, if there was kickback you'll already be holding it away from your appendages. Not to mention the blade is only going to extend a maximum of just over 2.5", and your arm should be a bit thicker than that. It would take quite a lot of skill to accidentally cut your own arm off with a circular saw.

Do you know the part number on the other one? I'm not seeing it on their site unless you go to a corded one.

I'm not sure of the part number but I believe it goes to a rear handle version. The have both left and right in the 6" version without being rear handle. I opted for this 7 1/4" one so it will fit in the packout box I keep my saws in. Rear handle was too big to fit with others.

When used with two hands, with the right hand as the main and left as support, that left hand gets closer to the blade. Also, a lot of right handed people use their left hand to support the piece being cut, which can also get close to the blade. Finally, if you are on the left side of the saw, a dust port will blow away from you if it is blade on the right. If you hook that up to a hose, that hose isn't on your side.

For those who prefer left side blades, the 6.5" and worm drive models are usually left blade.

As for the deal, for some reason i was in store on Sunday, and saw a tag for this saw for $129 straight up no battery deal. I only hesitate because i like shiny new objects with the new saw which is lighter with indents.

Are you saying this an older model? I hadn't seen a new model, but haven't followed it super closely.

The one you saw for $129 is for a different non-FUEL brushless saw.

Does anyone know me if I can use this to cut concrete cement - I have a pipe sticking out out that I need to carry forward and there is concrete

Doubtful, even if you could you would want a saw with dust control/water. I have a larger Milwaukee cutoff saw for that purpose (I believe 2178) and it eats up 8.0 HO batteries quickly. I think a standard circular with a masonry blade would struggle mightily.

I could be wrong though

I had been waiting for an M18 Fuel deal for either a circular or table saw, and this fit the bill. Worked perfectly - ordered online and tried to cancel just the battery, but wasn't able to. When I picked it up in store, I immediately asked to return the battery, and was able to right away; no questions asked.
