HP hinges are infamous for breaking.

So are Lenovos. And Dells. And pretty much every other laptop maker. I have a broken Lenovo in the next room with the exact same hinge problem as your video. My employer replaces a dozen Lenovos a month where the hinge fails in the same way.

You can put almost any brand name YouTube's search with the words "broken hinge" and you'll get dozens of videos.

It's a flaw inherent to the design of most of these common laptop chassis and not directly related to the build quality of one maker over another.

do you ever want do upgrade it? The GPU and CPU couldn't be upgrade (that said many pre-builts can't be upgraded either like certain Dell/Alienware as they use a custom motherboard.

Yeah, I think that sentiment has been beat to death, resuscitated, and beat within an inch of its life again. SSDs are cheap and are predicted to get cheaper. It's literally one of the cheapest upgrades you can do.

Anyone know what the TDP is for the RTX 4070 in this laptop? Want to know if they throttled back the power at all in this build.

4070 on 1080p is a overkill
True, but the 4070 on 1440p struggles for some demanding games. The 8GB VRAM holds it back.

At 1080p the 4070 should be able to run games at max settings for years.

You do realize that some people might plug in an external monitor and play on that with a higher resolution, right? Sure it might be overkill if you'll only play on the built-in screen, but I've also never in my life heard someone say "damn my video card is too fast!" Also, they might want it for powering a VR headset.

OK…

I did not state that Lenovo and Dell are perfect and have an artisan build quality.

PLUS…
The guy in the video is not some influencer running his mouth but a reputable repair shop owner.

* It does help the matter that HP uses cheap brittle plastic !!
BUT if you want to buy an HP...more power to you.

Yeah, I don't get this interest in this one. Wasn't there a version of this from Microcenter with double the memory and SSD for the same price about a week ago?
