The Dell Alienware AW3423DWF is a newer model similar to the Dell Alienware AW3423DW. They use the same QD-OLED panel type, so the picture quality is nearly the same between each, except that the AW3423DWF doesn't get as bright in HDR. The main difference comes with their VRR support, as the AW3423DW has native G-SYNC support while the AW3423DWF has native FreeSync support. The AW3423DWF also has a Console Mode that the AW3423DW doesn't have, letting you send 4k @ 60Hz signals from the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

It would have to be shipped out for them to install it
And it has to run the fans louder to keep it cool
For the price difference the WF is a vastly better deal

I recently purchased the dw version weeks ago and it was actually updated already
I bought a Dell Alienware 38 Curved Gaming Monitor - AW3821DW from Dell at the end of 2023 that included "Advanced Exchange Service 3 Years".
Unfortunately, it stopped working a few weeks ago. I spent hours troubleshooting with Dell technician, then we initiated a replacement under warranty. A few days later, Dell contacted me and said they didn't have any "refurbished" unit in stock. They asked me to provide my credit card to exchange for a new one and it would be shipped within 2 business days. I provided my CC and they put a charge on it. A few days later, they sent another email and said they didn't have this specific model in stock and didn't know when it would be available. Upon some research, it seems Dell discontinued AW3821DW model?
I asked if they could replace it with another similar model and they said they could replace it with a 34" monitor. I paid for the 38", I don't see a reason to downsize.
It has been a few weeks without a resolution and my CC has been charged for advanced exchange. I asked to escalate to upper management a few times without luck.
It seems Dell's services went downhill since they outsourced to the third world.
Good luck!
