Can finally get new technology instead of android hand-me-downs
Samsung makes the screens for the IPhone

ended up side/down grading from a S23U to S24+ for $41 after everything
for comparison, the best i could muster through samsung's pre-order deals for the S24+, including my S23U trade in, was $359, +tax on the full price of the phone, which would have totaled $440 or so
the S24+ feels much better in hand, but i was not aware that the anti reflective glass was on the Ultra only
also i immediately missed the ultras 10x optical / 100x digital zoom.. the S24+ only does 3x optical, 30x digital. say bye to airplane pictures
I wouldn't spend a single penny to "upgrade" from my phone to hers.
The idea of turning in my phone for a plus is comical. Samsung better pay me $300 for that transaction.

He said he could do it but he let me watch the kiosk whereby as soon as he put in the Samsung coupon for the trade, the price went from $1028 back up to $1099. Their system simply won't allow it.
I called Bestbuy.com for a price adjustment but they told me the same thing, they can't do a price match when there is a trade in involved.
So, that kind of sucks but it was still a great deal, especially compared to the the crappy T-Mobile deals currently if you're on an older grandfathered plan.
Net price after the ($700 trade allowance) was $400 plus $53 sales tax = $453.
T-mobile would be roughly $1,094 after sales tax and after waiting 24 months to get all of the bill credits in. Horrible deal through T-Mobile (unless you have their most expensive plans).
I think the price of the phone outright may still go down towards Black Friday but I'm not sure we'll see these trade in values again at Best Buy.
If you're willing to send your phone into Samsung to do a trade in (which I was extremely nervous about doing), then there will still be some good deals going forward.

The S21 and 22 series both had kind of dogbreath chipsets, but the S23 chip is REAL good. Going from an S23 to an S24 is strictly a lateral move, minus some enhanced telephoto capabilities in the 5X-9.9X zoom range for the S24U.
