My mistake,this was at the bottom of product description but looks like it's for the 2500 model not the 3000.

1000 size is only good for panfishes, trouts, etc using UL - L power rods. Much smaller reel size, less material cost, and hence typically lower price

Most of the third-party sellers on Amazon are selling gray market reels, which might generally be fine, but they aren't technically warrantied by Shimano.
