After 2 years, my mug disconnects, stops heating, and tries to connect repeatedly everytime I take it off the coaster. I emailed ember support with a video and I haven't received a response. I loved the mug otherwise.

Edit: Support magically got back to me the same day I posted this and offered a free replacement.

If you have any problems with ember products, be prepared to get very little support. If you google search, you will find out what I mean

Last time I got the black Mug 2 14oz. Couldn't tell it was ever used/refurbished, only that the box had been opened.

I got the 14oz mug last time for $34.99. Looked pretty new and lasts about 50-60 mins. Pretty happy with mine. Also bought a silicone brush to minimize scratches when cleaning.

I want to emphasize that there is minimal customer service for these items. I submitted a question and waited a month for a response. When I finally heard back, it was a generic reply offering a one-time discount code for $22 off a replacement mug from ember.com.
Woot has excellent customer service. They have resolved issues for me a couple of times when I received damaged refurbished items.

There was a comment about mug coating being potentially dangerous health wise.
Is it equally applicable to version 2 of the mug?
They are supposedly using ceramic coating there… Although they don't say 'ceramic', but 'ceramic-reinforced', hence my concern

I bought the 10 oz. version and was going to return it because it would not complete a firmware update (and it has lower capacity than I expected). Also, people report you shjould not use metal spoons on these mugs because they scratch easily. Woot never sent me a return label and they ended up refunding my money.

Possibly, those color and variant combination was OOS for refurbished ones and so they substitute with brand-new.
I got two in the last deal, 14oz Mug2 in gray. They were brand new, looked like someone opened the box and put them back in.

Got it from the last Woot deal. Never thought I needed it, but I got it anyway. Turns out I didn't need it after all. I like my coffee hot but I do tend to forget during meeting and stuff and then drink my coffee colder. But this keeps my coffee barely warm. Hardly much better than the double walled coffee mugs that keep your coffee hot/warm for a long time.

You're doing something wrong in that case or you have a broken one. I have multiple and they keep my coffee hot (145 degrees) for an hour. The one I bought in January 2020 is still working.
