Some of HD's buy one get one deals include the new 8Ah XR POWERPACK (DCB2108) as a free gift. For the lowest price do the following:
- Follow the link and select the TOUGHSYSTEM 2.0 FLEXVOLT... as the main item
- The total price for both items will be $199 (free shipping or store pickup)
- The battery should each price out at $104.26 (and the worklight at $94.74)
This is the lowest I have seen this battery for. The lowest slickdeal I saw before now was $150. If you plan to keep both the battery and tool, note that there are other options over at
Lowes for $199 for the battery and tool, but this is the regular 8Ah battery, not the POWERPACK.

These newer batteries ARE better for pro/prosumer and especially high torque/hi c-rate where time=money but for the average DIY basic is AOK unless you want an expensive trophy case. I say let the pros pay and the benefits roll down to the plebs in a few years. I still have XR batteries going strong from 2016, because I no longer make money and I simply don't use them enough to kill the nominal SOC.
In fact I find that 95% of the time (if not more) my m12 do the duty they are lighter, and are easier to maneuver. I even question still keeping a drill around. I started selling off my 20V tools.
I think at this price I would recommend the 9ah flexvolt at Home Depot, slightly more expensive, slightly higher AH, will work with 60V tools also, and worth a bit more.
Could always pick up an 8ah (non-powerpack) or 10ah on marketplace for around $10/AH if not worried too much about warranty, although they MIGHT warranty if production date is under 3 years.
