Hey I have a question for you laptop experts. I have a child who will be graduating H.S. next year and she asked for a laptop for Xmas to take to college in 2025. Is this a good laptop that will last her all 4 yrs or is there something else one would recommend? She is possibly going to into some kind of engineering degree.

Now, my company I work for gives me $1000 a yr to buy whatever 'well being item' and a laptop qualifies. Lol. I was going to use that free money to get a laptop.

What do you guys think? Is a 14" laptop screen a good size for college kids? Any other laptop you recomend under a $1000? I like the Costco factor because of their return policy and warranty. Thanks.

For me as well still showing 999 Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Edit: Had to call in, the CSR had to price adjust when the laptop ships! So I placed the order for $999 and gave him the order# to get the $300 discount when they process the order.

I called in as well. Firstly, as stated in the circular, this is a Cyber Monday only one-day promotion. For the $300 to be credited back to me, they said I can order it today, but I actually had to call back in on Monday only while the promo is ongoing. They also said that the laptop would have had to actually ship by the time the promo was live. So if it only shipped out on Tuesday, (which is unlikely, it should ship 1-2 days), then I would not receive the $300 adjustment back.
Worst case, one would always be able to return it back to Costco if the $300 discount could not be applied.
Side note -- they said they only had a few units listed as available right now, but there should be another 141 coming in for next week. The sold over 400 of these in the last month or so as well.
