FYSA Best Buy B&M can price match this deal. Online price match won't work.

Game has been great so far on thr first island, honestly weirdest thing is you don't use B to choose menu items with Luigi like in previous games which is very annoying to get used to. But so glad to have a new M&L game

I tried doing price matching at Best Buy brick and mortar today as mentioned above but I was denied and was told by the Best Buy worker and her supervisor that they could only price match this Costco.com offer once the game was actually being sold. They wouldn't price match the pre-order. FYI.

Nintendo doesn't really release duds in their first party franchise… their entire thing is gameplay.

Now, weather we'll see a QVC $40, who knows, but this is generally about as cheap as a Nintendo first party stuff gets.

I've heard the cutscenes and amount of handholding done in the first 7 hours are pretty insufferable though.

In the clips I watched, there's one Luigi cutscene that plays very frequently:

Super Mario RPG paved the way for Paper Mario, which cleared the way for Mario Brothership.

No offense, but I would guess the target age for this game is between 7 and 15
The RPG elements are pretty silly > https://youtu.be/zF96tpchink?si=HJgHy9gf-BBWt0H9

This is accurate. You're definitely not going to be challenged at any point in this game like previous Mario RPG titles.

I'm not sure how they got through all the cutscenes and tedious dialogue so quickly, but I read that someone was able to beat it in around 3-4 days.

Then again, that probably fits with the attention span of the current 7-15 year olds.

This game is eligible to be purchased via the Nintendo Voucher. I keep purchasing the $100 Nintendo Gift Cards for $80 that is regularly available at Costco and using it to buy the vouchers. I do end up still putting some taxes from the vouchers on my credit card, but this has allowed me to get all of their first party titles this year for ~$40.

Best buy is terrible. I no longer make major/big purchases there. I wouldn't recommend Best Buy to anyone making a major purchase. Every step of the way is a scam with them. Pay for this. Pay for that. Pay to bring in your item, even though you already paid for insurance. Ridiculous!

That's a good idea that is easily replicated. I decided way back in 2017 that for Switch games I was going all physical. It was a tough choice but I didn't want to have half my library physical and half digital, so I stuck to my guns. This was mostly so I could share games with my kids on their Switch consoles. Obviously indie games and inexpensive remasters like Quake or Lara Croft I just go digital.
But for Switch 2… I'm thinking your plan here is the way to go. Many of my "physical" switch carts aren't all that playable anyways as the requisite day one patch data still needed to be downloaded, which may not be an option 10-15 years from now. I think I'm done clinging to physical Nintendo games starting with Switch 2.
