FYI if you plan on sizing up your grips from standard to mid or mid to jumbo. They say you need 5 tapes to size up. I bought 3 kits to make sure I have enough tape and solvent. First time doing it and I didn't use enough solvent.

5 tapes? I went from standard to jumbo with one piece of tape per club
You can build up the grip using masking tape for however much you want to build it up. After that you use the two-sided tape for only the outer layer. Then you use the solvent and slide the grip on.

geeze, why complicate thing just to save some $? Just buy the correct/jumbo size grip already...
Because some like to play with wraps instead of grip size. They like the feel of a thinner rubber or it has to do with getting the correct swingweight. Scottie Scheffler (a pro golfer) uses 6 double sided tape to get his desired thickness and swing weight.
I have probably re-gripped around 5,000 clubs in my life.
Always just used masking tape on the shaft, double sided tape and then mineral spirits.
If you want mid-size, just buy midsize grips. If you want anything bigger I could build it up with a couple extra layers of tape.
I actually enjoyed doing them, because I'd get a buck per at the golf store I worked at.
Honestly have thought about starting up a re-gripping station from my garage. As well as bending lie/loft services. So easy and it's pretty fun, but not profitable.

At that point you should just start doing basic fittings as a side job!!

Thanks for clarifying who Scottie is, I wouldn't have known.

You'll get the hang of it after 4 or 5 of them.
Grab a good scraper. There are many, but I preferred the ones with the ball end (just easier to work with). Strip it to the shaft. Throw on masking tape length of the grip on the shaft (a little shorter actually), then throw on some double sided tape. You can "build it up" if you like by adding additional layers. Spray bottle with mineral spirits, slide it right on. And just a simple hook blade on the end of a box cutter to get them off.
Make sure you have another spray bottle with a needle and that lube (like you pump a basketball up with) for the really hard ones to get off.
