Don't waste your money. There are better GPUs at this price point, namely the 7800 XT ($470) and the 7900 GRE ($530). And, with Black Friday around the corner, prices should come down further.

Supposedly 5070 dropping in March but who knows for how much or what availability will be. Wouldn't surprise me if they were not widely available at launch.
I have always been massively iffed about the massively increased power consumption by latest gen GPUs compared to their increase in performance (compared to something like the GTX10xx series era) . As such, I have found 4070 to be that sweet spot between performance and power consumption.

As long as Jensen is printing money with AI, you betcha Nvidia is going to limit the amount of precious TSMC Fab space he'll be "wasting" on gaming GPU's. The next gen will likely be scarce for some time, and will likely be hard to get. OTOH the price of these cards should drop as AMD is going to be gunning hard for this price range, now that they've dropped out of the high end race.

If you're building a SFF, sure. You can also undervolt to achieve greater power efficiency.
Otherwise, most gamers don't really care about power consumption.
