These are old models, this price is normal, I remembered the Pflueger President used to be $30 on previous posts. Anyway, the Pflueger President is decent for this price.

the XT has more bearings and a sealed drag system for saltwater use. You are talking about the president which is also on clearance for $40 range

Just a heads up, the regular President models in the 35 and 40 size are also available for $40.
I think historically they've been as low as $30 from Walmart before, but this is still a good price for a good reel.

I think so too. I got my 40 and it feels like the size of a 30 and my Trion 30 feels smaller than a normal 30. YMMV on size

These reels are fantastic. Both the XT and the President. I have several of them. This prior year model of the President is better than the new one (it has the reverse switch, the new one doesnt).

The Pflueger reel appears to be comparable to a 5000 series Shimano stradic line capacity, as some people have mentioned. It's also odd that while the line capacity for 12 pounds is the same for each, the other line sizes hold progressively less.
