Best way to optimize:
- Buy two $300 gift cards in separate transactions.
- Use them on any normal purchases where your best cashback credit card doesn't have a great bonus. As an example, if you use it on a transaction where you would only get 1% cash back, using the gift card gets you an extra 5.67%cb. If you use it on an Amazon purchase where your amazon card gets you 5%, that's only an extra 1.67%cb.
How to add all AMEX deals to your card:
Use Chrome, on a computer (not mobile)
Go to Amex site.
View all offers.
Copy and paste this Javascript function into the URL:

Wait a minute or two. The function clicks every button that reads 'Add to Card' and it takes a couple minutes to run if you have 100 offers.

Last year I managed to gradually cash them out buying $25 Amazon eGCs from Best Buy each day. IIRC, it was a crapshoot whether or not the transaction would go through and higher denominations didn't work at all.
You can't use the eGC directly on Amazon, so hopefully this workaround still exists and is helpful to someone. I personally don't think the hassle is worth 6% rebate vs. 2% cash back with an AmEx CC.

update: shipping is $10.95. added to cart and was easy to see.
Better than free purchase fee when getting the physical card.
That said I think I'm sitting this one out, as other have said these have gotten harder to spend online so I can't imagine getting the eGC, and for getting the physical I'm not sure the savings are worth the hassle and locked up $$$.
ETA: Now I bet my ChickFil-A account gets locked out and I have to jump thru hoops just to use it the next time I'm in line at the store.
