Nice! Thank you OP - finally an AMEX deal good on my card!
Notes...
Equivalent of 6.67%cb ($20/$300 = 6.67%)
Best way to optimize:
- Buy two $300 gift cards in separate transactions.
- Use them on any normal purchases where your best cashback credit card doesn't have a great bonus. As an example, if you use it on a transaction where you would only get 1% cash back, using the gift card gets you an extra 5.67%cb. If you use it on an Amazon purchase where your amazon card gets you 5%, that's only an extra 1.67%cb.
How to add all AMEX deals to your card:
Use Chrome, on a computer (not mobile)
Go to Amex site.
View all offers.
Copy and paste this Javascript function into the URL:
javascript:btns=.filter(b => b.textContent === 'Add to Card');c=()=>{ b = btns.shift(); if (!b) return; b.click(); setTimeout(c, Math.random() * 300) };c();
Wait a minute or two. The function clicks every button that reads 'Add to Card' and it takes a couple minutes to run if you have 100 offers.
The function is secure. Your amex data is not being sent anywhere.
I have had a similar experience with AmEx gift cards where they get locked or there's a hold that prevents you from extracting full value from the card. Very difficult to use anywhere, and the service is terrible. AmEx outsourced their gift cards to some company and just slaps their logo on it, but the service is outrageous for AmEx standards. I would stay away, not worth the hassle.

No, they are even worse lol. They really locked these things down so you cannot use them quite literally anywhere. If you already bought it, you can call them up and politely ask for a refund in the form of a check.
Update, I purchased 2 of these for southwest, so every time I tried it was rejected, amazon, southwest, best buy, perfect giftcard, so I called southwest directly and was able to used the card doing the reservation via phone

I have been doing these amex GC offers for a few years now (every time they come up). In the past, I have had little to no issue using these cards, maybe rejected in one or two places, but all of the big ones worked with no issues.
Well, they have changed something, and these cards TRUELY do NOT WORK ANYWHERE!
I have no idea what a use case would be for these, other than cutting lines of coke, but that is ONLY if you get the physical card.
I called the number on the back of my digital GC (888-205-8622) and went to the option to report fraud (and saying I did not have my card #) , and finally got a human.
After some polite but firm back and forth, they were able to refund the purchase by sending me a check in the mail. Make sure you use the fraud option because all other options will take you to them reading the FAQ's back to you. Make sure you also mention that it is NOT a rewards card and that you are the OG purchaser. Otherwise, they will refuse doing a refund since they think it will go back to the business who purchased it.
So to whomever this matters, I can no longer endorse these Amex GC deals , and will no longer be posting them in the future.
Yes, these AMEX won't work anywhere. I had to file Complient with government last year to get the check.

I couldn't get this to work. It suddenly added 100 offers but later disappears.
Those of you who asked for a refund by check, How long did it take to receive the check? I just asked for my refund. According to the agent she said its because these cards do not store your address and that is why they get denied.
If I get the check quick its an easy way to make the cashback it seems
Tried to use at Amazon for $300. Declined. $299 Declined. $150 Declined. There are 2 charges for $0.10/ea that apparently will be released in a week or so.
So the issue is NOT necessarily the hold itself exceeding the card value - if that were the case then the $150 would have gone through.
Called Amex. Was told that they do not store address info (if that matters) and that Amazon was the one declining the purchases (not sure how that works). Agent told me to try somewhere else. Sorry but that's BS. These cards should be good wherever Amex is accepted.
Tried using at my insurance (as stated previously) but the expiration on the card is in 2035 and their website won't let me enter anything beyond 2034.
Curious as to how people are getting refund checks for these - do you just call the number, feign fraud, and get a check?

In the past was able to purchase amex travel checks and then deposit them right away in the bank.

Did you click the "Added to Card" tab?
If not, were you using Chrome on PC? I haven't tried this on mobile or mac, and I know it doesn't work in Firefox.
For me: I was able to purchase some parts from parts.toyota. Plus they have 20% off right now - last day a believe.
