Do you tip your Amazon drivers or your mailman/person?

The tipping culture is out of control in the U.S.

Businesses (should) pay their employees and staff fair wages and health insurance, and the consumer should pay for the products. It's just that simple.

I shop and deliver for Walmart. They have created algorithms to give drivers a certain amount regardless of the tip amount. An order with no tip Walmart will pay $11 and if you add a $7 tip, the driver gets the same $11 but now it's broken into Walmart Pays $4 and customer tip $7.

They're using the tips to underpay the drivers and make bigger profits !

Basically if I give a $5 cash tip it's essentially a $16 tip unless they're a dingbat and report it

Thanks. I went to the cancellation screen and right there I saw a button offering my next year for $49. I just clicked it and got it. Not sure it's a good value but hopefully some good Black Friday deal I can take advantage of.
Same this worked for me. I hit cancel and it offered a renewal at $49 dollars. Thanks! That was easy!

My membership renews in a few days ($50 offer) and we signed up for their $40/yr In-home tip-free add on. In the one-month trial for the in-home service right now. But we are thinking of cancelling.

There are two major issues -
1) The tip free hours available are only two slots 9am to 1pm and 1pm to 5pm. So basically, only regular working hours. That means the only practical slots left are for the weekend, which get booked early. So, we have to plan much in advance. Of course, you still have the 'tip extra' regular evening deliveries available. But if I'm spending $40 extra to avail of the in-home tip-free option, no point in booking tip options on the side.
2) The produce deliveries are extremely bad. It's like they go out of their way to send the expiring soon stuff just to get rid of such stock from their store. This might be specific to the Walmart that services our location. But every time we schedule something - fruits, bread, bakery goods etc., we have to throw half the fruit or contend with baked goods that are expiring the same day.
I've had the same experience with stuff expiring soon like milk and bread. Usually 50% of the vegetables and fruit have to be thrown away immediately upon delivery. I'm in the Philadelphia suburbs. I cancelled my Walmart+ solely for this reason.

If I'm currently on a 6-mo trial, will it add a year after my 6 mo are up or will it start the year now?

Incidentally, I had in-home delivery scheduled yesterday. I had the Walmart employee wait outside till I checked the expiry dates on everything. The milk was expiring the day after, and the egg carton had broken eggs. I handed those two items back. No way could we have finished the milk that soon. This time I did not have fruits or vegetables ordered on purpose.

I guess I can do the same every time. But this is a problem. Can't have someone inside every time. And I do wonder how many times can I refuse stuff before they flag my account.

Only wish there was a better way to curate the stuff Walmart actually carries vs the total no name drop shipped junk
Search for an item. Select Walmart under Retailer on left filter.

I order groceries through Walmart+. Sometimes there's an option to tip, sometimes there's not, so I asked about it when I got my order. They told me it doesn't give the option if Walmart fulfills the order, but sometimes they outsource to delivery services like instacart
The tip section completely disappears for me when I pay with Paypal as well.

I've never tried this but their "InHome" "plus up" is only $40 a year and there are no tips because it's real walmart employeesfrom what I understand they don't have to come into your home eitherso for frequent deliveries +$40 inhome might be worth ithttps://www.walmart.com/plus/inhome
Nice. AmEx currently has a Spend $98+ on Walmart+, earn $49 back cash back promo ending in 1/15/25.
I don't have Plus or InHome so I can basically trial InHome for the $138, hopefully AmEx will come through with the cash back.

I bought this yesterday after they offered it , I was off plus about 2 months. I was going to place a order online for pickup about 25$ worth and noticed a 6.99$ charge for under 35$ order. That's new and bs ! Some of my items are not available for delivery but if they were is it still free delivery no minimum?? If not plus is not worth it anymore!

Plus tip on deliveries. No thanks.
Isn't that just on stuff like 2 hour deliveries?

Regular shipping doesn't have that.

Correct, not on shipping, just store deliveries.

Essentially that's a different service, more like Uber Eats or Door Dash. All those types of services have tipping expected. Even Amazon has Amazon Flex for Amazon Fresh deliveries.

But Walmart+ has benefits outside of that, that's parallel to regular Amazon.

I went to the cancellation screen, and saw somewhere the option to renew for $49. I will know in 1 day if they charge me the full, and I have to call to get adjusted. But it looks like it will be $49.
Going to do this on my other account too. If not, I can always use my Amex Gold Business and get whatever they offer.

mine renews in 3 days. I just went in and tried to cancel and it offered me my next renewal at $49. If you have an active account, try canceling to see if you get the offer.
