Do you tip your Amazon drivers or your mailman/person?

The tipping culture is out of control in the U.S.

Businesses (should) pay their employees and staff fair wages and health insurance, and the consumer should pay for the products. It's just that simple.

I shop and deliver for Walmart. They have created algorithms to give drivers a certain amount regardless of the tip amount. An order with no tip Walmart will pay $11 and if you add a $7 tip, the driver gets the same $11 but now it's broken into Walmart Pays $4 and customer tip $7.

They're using the tips to underpay the drivers and make bigger profits !

Tipping as a means of regular compensation is BS.

That said, businesses should offer monetary compensation and nothing else. Health insurance is a mess because it's tied to employers when it should be tailored to and associated with the individual. "Benefits" should disappear with a corresponding increase in pay. With higher pay, you get to choose your own "benefits".

Most food items will require a tip if you use "delivery".
Sometimes "shipping" orders will magically turn into a delivery order. The difference is FedEx vs someone dropping it off from Walmart. This cannot be controlled, it's done automatically on their end.
These shipping turned delivery orders do not require tipping. But this doesn't work for food items with no shipping option.

Yes, I realize I should tip $100 for every order I have in order to virtue signal and be a good person by today's idiotic standards.

And here is one of the tip shamers now.
Don't worry, everyone here knows how much you tip and that makes you a good person!
Give it a rest!

I grabbed this just for the extended warranty on tires and ship stuff to my dad and family in Missouri. Saved me like $30 on the tire warranty and I have it for a year if I need more.

I order from Walmart all the time, and there isn't even an option to tip.

Guess maybe if I did a grocery order and had that delivered? I ordered some boxer briefs the other day and they came in one day, no tip option.
Amazon is free shipping for any order with Amazon Prime, Walmart+ is the same or what?

L O FRIGGIN L @ tipping walmart orders

I've stopped tipping doordash, and my service has not diminished in one single way. The drivers who accept my tip-less orders are more than welcome to vote with their "labor" as I am voting with my dollars. (in fact, I sincerely think drivers really allow themselves to get exploited for under-min-wage labor that DD seems to trap them in. I really wish they WOULD stop taking my orders, and make DD lose money. Genuinely...)

I say this as a child of a parent who worked their entire lives living on tips: tipping culture is officially jumped the shark and we don't need to take part in it. Don't let mulit million dollar corporations guilt trip you into subsidizing THEIR labor force.

The people that deliver these orders aren't hourly employees nor are they actual Walmart employees so this is a trash comparison. Also just like with "tipping culture" you can choose NOT to do it as it's not mandatory for this service.

Are you serious?! That's terrible. Wait, so if Walmart determined $11 is your tip, but I were to tip $25, do you still get $11 and they keep the remaining $14, or do you get the additional $14?

On that SD a while ago, Walmart said it was a glitch but that the half price would still be honored from that. Anyone confirm that occurred if their expiration date has passed between then and now?

The free Paramount+ makes this worthwhile and the free shipping with it as well.

side note, just found that instacart gives free peacock subscription. so for the $79 renewal with Costco membership, makes it a great deal.

I reached out to customer service with an active account and asked them for this deal and they gave it to me, so it's worth trying to reach out and see if they'll do the same for you.

Worked for me. Thanks OP. We love inhome delivery and being able to walk in, grab something and pass everyone in line for scan and go is priceless.

Just wish HEB had in home.

i wish walmart would just create some kind of walmart+ /samsclub+ combo with a strong value proposition. we already pay for costco and amz prime and have a basic samsclub membership. not really keen on adding yet another membership fee.
