Yes, you can. Return the tool and keep the batteries. There might be better combinations of tool/battery that provides the batteries even cheaper. You'll need to play around with the combinations and see what works best.

Correct. However, I had the non-fuel version before Redlink and it's served me well for 10+ years. Ripping plywood, trim, butcher block countertop and cross-cuts on 2x4's etc.

If you just want a circular saw I've been to 2 different HD stores and I've seen 7 1/4 m18 Fuel saw for 129.00 on clearance and both stores had about 2 each.

Yea, I got one of these when it went on clearance. The 6 1/2 version is on clearance but for $207. Now looking for more batteries for the saw, 5.0 is not enough.
