It's been answered above. They're impact bits...they don't need anything special and can be attached to any tool that accepts 1/4 bit...imapct driver, drill, driver handle.

These should function like regular bits in any standard tool. The "ball" feature is just the structure of the torsion zone.

Please someone correct him if he's wrong… it would definitely be the factor between buying it out not. What are the benefits of getting the required "handle" instead of the normal non proprietary handles?

Any input appreciated as I'm looking into building a small but robust toolset

You're correct, I think if you use a Japanese-brand driver like a Makita or Metabo (formerly HPT or Hitachi) it should click. You can see the difference here: https://youtube.com/shorts/dIEv47...ure=shared

Edit: from the photos, it doesn't look like the Japanese style. You're really buying this kit for the bits anyway so you can always grab a DeWalt or something compatible.

Edit2: The JIS Drive system will fit Japanese components like a glove; if you have Hondas or Toyotas that is. https://www.vesseltools.com/jisdrive

Got it for $26.81 in May.
Good bits and you get a variety of bits that you don't get in the big name brand kits.

These are JIS bits. The biggest difference you'll see is between the American style phillips bits which were originally designed to cam out when tightening and the JIS Japanese Industrial Style which is a true cross desined not to cam out. If you work on a Japanese motorcycle, these are a must. If you're just using them for typical phillips head fasteners, in my opinion they are still much better than phillips bits.

Makes no sense the shock absorbing. No one uses impact on phillips star hex and long blade screws. +1, +2, +3, SL4, SL6, SL8, SQ1, SQ2, SQ3, T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T40, PZ1, PZ2, PZ3, H3, H4, H5, H6, H3/32, H7/64, H1/8, H9/64, H3/16, H7/32, H1/4"& 1/4" Hex

How do you know they are JIS? I have a set of vessel JIS screwdrivers for working on my bike, and they are clearly labeled JIS. These just say Phillips?
