Available editions:About this game:
  • Experience the iconic and beloved entry to the franchise Resident Evil 4 in this remake. The game has been modernised in gameplay, reimagined in storyline, and the graphics are now vividly detailed.
  • Survival is just the beginning. Six years have passed since the biological disaster in Raccoon City. Leon S. Kennedy, one of the survivors, tracks the president's kidnapped daughter to a secluded European village, where there is something terribly wrong with the locals.
  • Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition includes Resident Evil 4 and two additional items of content: Separate Ways, where you experience the story through Ada Wong's perspective, and the Extra DLC Pack, which contains additional character outfits as well as useful weapons and items.
    • Separate Ways reimagines and builds upon the bonus content from the original game to deliver an expanded new adventure. The story sees the enigmatic Ada Wong infiltrating the European village controlled by Los Iluminados under orders from Albert Wesker to seize the group's darkest secret: a powerful substance known as "the Amber." This dangerous assignment leads to an unexpected reunion with Leon S. Kennedy, presenting another perspective on the game's narrative that answers lingering questions from the main campaign.
    • The Extra DLC Pack brings with it a host of costumes and screen filters to customize your game, as well as an expanded treasure map revealing additional items to find and trade on Leon's mission, and the powerful Sentinel Nine and Skull Shaker weapons.

This is a remake, not a "remaster". And it's legitimately one of the best games from recent years, full stop. Whether you're completely new to the series or an RE diehard, this is an absolute must-play. I'd say even more so than the RE2/3 remakes. RE4 is, yet again, franchise-defining, just like the original one was many years ago.

I liked it quite a bit. They redid some of the more tedious bossfights, but it feels very similar. It is less campy and over the top than the original, which is a bit disappointing.

Wow, I loved the RE2 remake, RE3 remake was a bit of a let down but still fun. Original RE4 I loved so much

Ahhh, that's too bad. Reminds me of the re-dub of Castlevania Symphony of the night, where they removed the campy Dracula and Ricter dialog that I loved so much in the original

I would say yes. The most important of the dlc is separate ways which is around $7.50 on its own. That adds an extra 10 hour campaign as Ada. So you pay just a little more for the costumes and some items that will be handy. Not necessary, but for about $2 extra vs getting base game and separate ways dlc separately, it's worthwhile.

Started playing this last week. They did such a great job with it. Graphics are beautiful.
Perfect timing since Pluto was playing the Resident Evil movies all this month 😂

Just FYI. This has denuvo. I'll wait another year to see if capcom drops it after their agreement with denuvo ends.
