Valheim is a cozy, slow-paced survival-crafter and is my favorite in the genre. Ark, Conan Exiles, Empyrion, The Forest, and Enshrouded are all good, but Valheim is great.

I highly recommend it especially at this price.

Great game. I usually dislike survival games but this one has that right mix of decent combat, fun building, and a chill atmosphere.

Just make sure you tread lightly in new biomes. When you get into the Plains they start getting pretty rough.

It is. It's not incredibly rough on hardware. It's easy for people to join at later times. When you are ready to move on, you can defeat a boss and make the world harder. Survival elements are there but not as punishing as other games. Building isn't too bad. It's a little finicky but you can really have someone just have at it and build castles and grand docks if you want or just enough to get by to go explore. It's pretty fun.

I poured so many hours into this game. It's well worth it if you're into survival genre. The game is pretty stable despite being an early access game.

I'm on my 5th playthrough with my wife, this time we brought our son along. For a game that isn't "finished" yet, this is an absolute banger! Sometimes it can be frustrating (running to your gravestone over and over trying to recover items) and at times the combat can be pretty janky, but all in all it's a super fun game to play with my wife and kiddo.

Extremely fun with friends. Kinda fun solo, can be very tedious at times depending on your settings, but the first play through is amazing.

One of my tribe members played our whole run on a steam deck and he had no issues. Personally I think you need a keyboard and mouse to play this genre of game, but no it's totally playable on a steam deck

Try making your own server if you haven't already. That way the owner doesn't have to be on for the others and you can tweak settings to make things less hassle.
