I got this a few weeks ago when it was last on sale, all in it was $1692 after cash back.

I have no complaints. PC Builders and purists will look down on it but as a guy who doesn't want to deal with building a PC anymore then I can't complain, it's good bang for the buck

This is how my 13900k 4090 r15 ended up like. Case was so bad. I salvage what i could and build this. Next time i'll just buy a microcenter combo and build frm scratch. You spend more but you will end up with something better

R15 cases suck really bad though. The R16 was completely redesigned and it is nice looking, more muted (design/exterior), and runs very cool.

Looking at your pic, muted design was not what you were looking for lol. Does look clean though.

The problem with the propriatory motherboard is that it will prevent you from upgrading to a new CPU in a few years. Also, even things that are theoretically easy to upgrade on this machine are limited. For e.g., the bios doesn't let you turn on XMP if you upgrade the memory. The case is also pretty small and basically custom designed to basically only fit the few components they sell on their website (they have their own Dell RTX cards). There's a risk you may need a whole new case if you want to update the gpu down the line, and since the motherboard is custom for the case, you'll need a new motherboard and a new power supply too. Basically, only get this if you are confident you won't do anything more than upgrade the storage or maybe ram, or maybe if you intend on getting a lower end configuration and intend on only upgrading to same generation but higher end components sold by Dell.
I agree with the sentiment but for Intel CPU's if you're looking at upgrading the CPU in a few years, that motherboard is also going to need an upgrade. AMD's are good for a few upgrade cycles but Intel, you're just happy upgrading to the next year's processor and that's it.

Hmmm got the 4070 ti super version on the last deal and love it. Don't think the 4080 super is worth like $800 more in my opinion
Yes, around May time there was deal for 4090 of this set to be only $100 more, I think more deals will be out lower than this price this holiday season

The lowest the R16 went with a 4090 was $2400 and that was a price mistake.

How can you tell what cb rates are in the future? Just wanted to know since I'm waiting on seeing what other pre-built deals will be happening and weighing that against Dell plus the cb

Here's a detail. Never buy a Dell. The company is horrible as a whole, and their customer service takes the cake as the worst on this plane(t).
I've had nothing but good experiences for the last 24 years. Bought 1st dell in 2000 or so. Nothing wrong with their service, especially the Alienware. They pick up immediately and are in Costa Rica.

Free "upgrade" available for the 14900 chip if you configure. Ends up being $100 cheaper than the other frontpage deal for the same configuration.
