1. Wheels and Tyres:
●
The Escape 2.0 has 27.5-inch wheels with 2.3-inch wide tyres.
●
The Voyage 2.0 has 700c wheels with 45mm (approximately 1.77-inch) wide tyres.
●
700c is a common wheel size for road bikes, roughly equivalent to 29 inches, and generally offers a smoother ride on paved surfaces . 27.5-inch wheels are more typical for mountain bikes and may provide better traction and stability on uneven terrain., the Escape 2.0 has wider tyres which may offer more traction and stability on uneven terrain like gravel paths
2. Fork:
●
The Escape 2.0 uses a hi-tensile steel fork.
●
The Voyage 2.0 has a lightweight aluminium fork.
●
Aluminium forks are generally lighter and offer better shock absorption compared to steel forks, potentially making for a more comfortable ride
3. Stem:
●
The Escape 2.0 has a standard alloy A-head stem.
●
The Voyage 2.0 features an adjustable alloy stem.
●
An adjustable stem allows for a more customised fit by changing the handlebar height and reach
4. Weight:
●
The Escape 2.0 weighs 28 lbs.
●
The Voyage 2.0 weighs 27 lbs.
●
This slight weight difference could be attributed to the Voyage 2.0's aluminium fork and other component selections
5. Other Shared Features:
●
Frame: Both bikes have a lightweight aluminium frame.
●
Drivetrain: Both have an 8-speed drivetrain with similar components.
●

●
Accessories: Both have water bottle bosses and rear rack bosses.
6. Price and Availability:
●
Both are advertised as being on sale from an original price of $699.99.
Overall:
While both bikes share similarities, the Voyage 2.0 seems to offer a slightly more refined riding experience. Its aluminium fork, adjustable stem, and lighter weight may appeal to those who prioritise comfort, particularly on paved surfaces. The Escape 2.0, with its wider tyres and potentially more rugged construction, might be better suited for riders who anticipate encountering rougher terrain.
It's important to remember that these are just two models from a wider range, and other variations within the Escape and Voyage lines might exist The best choice ultimately depends on your individual needs, riding style, and preferences.

I figure even if I hate this bike, I'd have new shifters and cables. Plus, a disc brake on the front. And spare tires and tubes (although those would need to be the exact same size).
Edit: only 1 shifter, my old one needs 2.
