Looks like Boss DM-101, RE-202, and RE-2 are also price dropped but not as great a discount.

As .. maybe ... an interesting alternative view on .. at least the model this is trying to emulate .. I remember when these first came out. There was a bunch of us playing out around Cleveland/Akron/Canton .. and we'd gather .. every once in a while at a certain club we all frequented. And we set the thing up .. I was the only one who had one and I wanted to try and show off how progressive and cutting edge I was by having this .. and, man, the other dudes absolutely ripped me to shreds for liking it.
Their take was: "A delay is not SUPPOSED to be an EXACT duplicate echo. It's a 'smear' .. like a watercolor .. of what you just played. The ambience comes from the interpretation by the listener of the echo. That's like a camera holding up a series of photographs at whatever milliseconds you set it to. Who would want that?"

I sold it three days later.
Couldn't take the ridicule.
To be fair, that's kind of a cork sniffer thing that they did to you. As long as you like it.
Also, digital delay vs analog...bucket brigade vs mosfet processors. A degrading delay is cool and useful, but so is a clean repeat....both have their uses

Yeah, I was all of 19 years old at the time and these guys were all much older. The Cars, Devo, The Pretenders had all just broken out of the Cleveland/Akron scene and I was trying to be The Next.
I failed.
I can say, in the unlikely circumstance that someone is reading this, out of 45 years of playing guitar with some form of "echo" or "reverb", the best I ever came across .. ever .. always had some type of tape machine involved. I'm not technically proficient enough to explain to you why but .. there was this Tascam recorder back in .. the late seventies(?) or so .. and it had this switch called "S.O.S." .. "sound on sound" .. and GREAT GOD MAN .. jhees. And then in like .. 1990 or so .. I had some little 4 track cassette tape recorder and it had a reverb on it that used the tape somehow and .. man, I listen to recordings of that stuff and I'm out here some 40 years later listening to the technology of today with $479 reverb pedals and I'm like,
"They Ain't Got It"
That's just my experience of living through all this time and messing with delays and reverbs
