Not sure about this item but haven't been thrilled with the Cotopaxi quality. My jacket hasn't held up like my Patagonia, North Face, etc.

They use leftover pieces of material to make the bag eco friendly.

I lived out of one of these for 6 months while traveling. Absolutely loved it. Mine is still in excellent shape.

Yes. This is the old version. Lacks the luggage roller bag pass thru, etc.
But it also has the load lifters and the shoulder strap option which the new ones don't have anymore.

And a water bottle pocket! I'm not sure it's big enough to hold a typical water bottle and surely won't hold a hydroflask or something like that, but it's a mesh pocket nonetheless!

Is this similar to the open story 45l fr target?
I'm wondering the same. I have a trip to Japan scheduled for next year and am wanting a good travel bag to use. You can get the Open Story bag for like 1/3rd the price of the Cotopaxi. Any reason I'm missing not to just get that?

I'm not too sure size wise. You may want to check reddit onbagger. This might be the max personal item size. Since lots airlines charge for carry ons now.
Too big to be a personal item. The 35L is the largest size that can still be considered a carry on and that's a tight squeeze. Great bag if you don't mind checking it.

It's a great bag. Excellent organization, comfortable, fits in an overhead, just a great bag. I had an osprey for years, ordered some for my family from a more recent model (same model tho) and the quality turned junk. This is just excellently thought out and well made.
What osprey bag did you order recently? I love my porter 46 and may be getting an updated one

I have an older Porter 46 as well. Bought multiple newer ones around 2021/22 and they're notably lower quality. The flap in the front isn't padded, leaving the laptop area really unprotected and junky feeling comparatively. Also the plastic support in the back has been thinned and lower which causes it to bend over time. Mine (and my wife's and daughters) all have a notable crease/bulge there that moves the bag away from your back in the lower back area, which is the cause of the back pain.

Not sure if they've updated it again, but really, it's not the same bag as it was. Don't think I can post pictures here, but it's obvious when you look at it.

how tight is 35 as carry-on? r/onebag's spreasheet says 3% compliance which is crazy

Got my 35L in today... Purple fabric for the front. Ugghh.. Oh well, it was a gamble. Still a nice bag though.
