Think about metabo as well. I have a few Kobalt in addition to yellow and red. How does metabo compare to Kobalt? Should I switch?

I have a full lineup of Metabo HPT power tools, including their cordless trim (with Makita plunge base) and fixed 1/2 corded. Feel kind of ridiculous getting the 1/2 cordless plunge since I'm a hobbyist, but with the 36v battery and charger, this deal is well worth it.

I have quite a few, both 18v and 36v, all picked up for 75% off or less at Lowe's.

There is an extra $ off coupon code BMSMHPT ($10 for this router) started today. Wasn't there yesterday.

Picked up the Milwaukee m18 fuel trim router for $100 last week but I'm wondering if this might be the better deal. Seems like you get quite a bit more flexibility with this.
I'm not really working out on job sites so the size isn't a dealbreaker for me but I am well invested into Milwaukee already.

It is insane to me that this isn't on the frontpage already.

Great find OP!

As stated in the Toolguyd thread for this deal, you can use the AC adapter but it becomes top heavy. Need a deal on a pair of DW618 to dedicate to a dovetail jig.

I watched YT on recommendation and the new Dewalt, Makita and Milwaukee plunge routers are the best in that order. But it always comes down to personal preferences, like size, customization switches and knob. You can always use battery adapter with any tool but it comes with the cost of being extra bulky.

You probably got the compact router. This one is plunge router. It's more for heavy usage and bigger router bits. If you're using mostly at home or shop go for corded model. Battery models does nothing added to value if you're not at mobile job site and don't have a plug in.
